The otherside of courage

We often thought of Courage as doing something heroic or doing great adventures. Yes it is, however going towards one more abstraction, I find it more courageous not to do something, when you have the opportunity to do that. People usually lose their temper in some occasions, and they don’t know the reason why they are behaving such a way in those occasions. Our parents forgot to teach us one most important lesson in our childhood, that is, to be silent when we are angry or very sad. I do say, we should not control our emotions, however when there is a contrast between losing temper and controlling emotions, I feel the latter is much better. It takes immense courage to keep yourself silent when you are very angry, And I find the advantages are unlimited, as equanimity is beyond apprehension. Courage is not just shouting at someone, it is about not shouting when you have the chance to shout, that keeps you not regretting at any point of your life. I find one statement more important while I am doing my engineering, “Courage is not only to stand up and speak, but also to sit and listen”.
